On 14th November 2024, about 30 students from my class S11C as well as from W13 took a trip to Nuremberg. Our destination? The Nuremberg Filmhaus.
Together with Ms. Kauntz and Mr. Felsberger (and of course, the film studios) we had the opportunity to travel into the year 1941, when two sisters had invented a machine by the name of L.O.L.A. This machine was magnificent as it was able to receive radio signals from the future such as radio and TV news. Using this skill, the two sisters could predict the future of Great Britain in the early times of WW2 and thus managed to save thousands of lives. But at what cost? Andrew Legge, the director of the film, had the aim to make the story seem realistic, so he used techniques like scratching the film, giving the camera a shaky feeling and making it seem like it was hand recorded by characters in the film. Watching the movie was an incredible experience for us and we are glad that Ms. Kauntz took us to the Filmhaus.
If I inspired you to watch the film, don’t hesitate and swing by the Nuremberg Filmhaus as well!
